FY 2018 CSCL update

Japanese fiscal year starts from April 1st. It means the timing to implement a new rule is April in principle.

Regarding CSCL, April 1st 2018 is the day to start partial implementation of the 2017 amendment.

At the sametime authorities have announced several amendments of rules including amandment of the implementation notice.

One of the most significant change is the introduction of “90% rule for polymers” by amending the implementation notice.

Another important change is on the test method of biodegradation and bio-accumulation. In this amendment, TG 301F was officialy anounced as reccommended test method under certain conditions.

In addition to these changes, the polymer flow scheme was simplified by reducing test conditions.

The evaluation criteria of extremely hazardous new chemical are published for the implementation of the 2017 amendment.
